Our Mission
To serve the community by providing affordable computer and electronics sale, service, and repair at a fraction of the cost of retail stores.
Company History
Prime Tech Repair was officially established in 2006, but our history begins long before that.
Founder, Michael David, has loved working with computers from the 5th grade and provided technical support to friends, family, and teachers throughout school and college. By word of mouth, more and more people were turning away from the overpriced retail stores and sought his help with all electronic-related sales and repairs.
In 2006, he formed Prime Tech Repair and hired technicians to service the overflow of customers. Because there is little overhead, technicians are paid a majority of the profits made by the company and the rest is reinvested in the company - to buy better tools and training equipment. The result is an overall lower cost to you, the customer, and better trained and equipped on-site technicians.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Prime Tech Repair do?
In short, we do everything related to computers and electronics. See our services section or give us a call, we'll be happy to help you in any way we can.
Do you have a retail store?
No. Prime Tech Repair saves on the costs of having a retail store by building home-offices in the homes of our technicians. This allows us to provide better, personal equipment with the best tools available at a fraction of the cost.
Rest assured that your computer equipment is in safe hands.
How much do you charge?
That depends on the amount of work that needs to be done. We are always cheaper than the retail stores - that hire technicians for $12/hour and charge you $120/hour.
We generally charge less than $50/hour with specialized (cheaper) rates for common services like virus removal, Windows reinstallation, upgrades, and other common tasks. For detailed information about our prices, please use the contact page. Be sure to include a description of your problem and your location (city, state). We'll respond to you within 48 hours.
Am I getting the same level of service as a retail store?
No, we're definitely better. At Prime Tech Repair, you technician is your personalized point-of-contact for all services provided by Prime Tech Repair.
What is a Prime Tech service code?
A Prime Tech service code is a four digit number affixed to your computer or electronic equipment. It is used to quickly allow our technicians to identify your equipment's records in our database. This allows us to look up service records, warranty information, and other useful information for diagnosing and solving your problem.
An example of a service code sticker is shown below.

Some small equipment may not have Prime Tech service codes because the service tag does not physically fit on the device. The original work order will have a Prime Tech service code sticker affixed to the front.
What is myPRIME?
The myPRIME online support system is a unique system that ties the service code on your equipment to this website. When completed, it will allow customers to get personalized support for their equipment, such as drivers and downloads and warranty information.
When will myPRIME be available?
Honestly, no idea. We're working as hard as we can to get the online system up and running, but our priority is to service the equipment of our customers.
Currently, if you need personalized service for your Prime Tech Repair equipment, please use the contact page and send us an e-mail requesting the specific information you need. We'll respond to you within 48 hours.
